Run where networks are constrained or absent. The encoded artifact can be stored, moved (physically if needed), and used for inference or fine-tuning entirely on local systems. Restore remains bit-perfect and verifiable when a plain copy is required, but most workloads compute on the sealed file, keeping plaintext out of band.
Intermittent connectivity stops being a blocker. Batches execute locally, results are queued, and synchronization happens opportunistically when links are available. In air-gapped environments, operators can transfer encoded files by approved means (sneakernet, removable media), verify integrity on arrival, and continue computing without standing up networked dependencies.
Operations simplify under field conditions. With fewer decode points and a uniform, compact representation, there’s less I/O churn and fewer moving parts to configure on constrained machines. Optional self-extracting packages ensure recovery remains possible on systems without prior tooling, even years later.
